I’m a long married mother of three sons, which makes me knowledgeable about marriage and raising sons and somewhat knowledgeable about what happens when a son develops what is known in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Illness as “schizophrenia.”
I’ve now written a book, making me no longer just a mother, but an “expert” mother. I know enough to know what I do not know, which is plenty. And, I willing to share all that with you(!) in the hopes that my book can encourage you and your adult son or daughter to muddle through recovery together. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it, too.
Parts of my non-writing life have been spent working in provincial politics, the Canadian Parliament, and international organizations.
I’ve contributed a chapter to Goddess Shift: Women Leading for a Change and the occasional blog post to the Mad in America website.
My blog, Holistic Recovery from Schizophrenia, has been going since 2009.
